After debuting seven decades ago and accomplishing incredible racing feats, the legend continues. Jaguar Classic is going to be assembling a limited line of brand new, revamped, and hand built Jaguar C-Types for customers who are truly classic lovers.
The C-Type hit the market over 70 years ago, and its beauty, grace, and innovations shook the world of motor racing forever. When we say a new, limited supply of C-Types will be built, we mean new. These will not be refurbished or restored, they will be built anew and will be done in the most correct way possible. They will also be eligible for vintage racing!
Anyone who has been interested in hearing the classic car race around a track should be thrilled. Even the simplest, most pedestrian of the original C-Types is rare and has a price tag that’s well into the seven-figures range. Due to this, owners are not often considering bringing them to races.
By adding even a few new racers like these into the vintage race scene would make a dent in the amount of classic Jaguars that are on the scene.
These new C-Types will use the specification of the 1953 works racer, the specification used in the car that won that year’s Le Mans. This means they will be fitted with three Webers, 3.4 liter six that will be able to crack out 220 horsepower.
Disc brakes will be used, which back then was a novel technical advancement. An FIA-approved harness will be available for those who want to race, but it will be totally optional.
There have been 53 C-Types and out of these, 10 of them were used as works cars. Drum-brakes cars that came beforehand were not as developed as the 1953 spec, which the new ones will be based on.
For anyone who has been fantasizing about owning a C-Type that’s totally brand new, here is your chance. The best part is that it will be an interactive one.
